We are delighted to be able to confirm that Scottish Ministers have rejected both applications for a hotel at the Old Royal High School (BBC news article).
Fortunately, Minsters agreed with us that the proposals would not preserve the listed buildings or setting and that the ‘overwhelming scale would be a distraction in significant views’. This is a great step forward – and now we hope to help bring to fruition the ORHS as the home for St Mary’s Music School, Scotland’s National Music School. An endeavour we fully support.
